About this deal

This one had the advantage of real hardwood, and the hand steadying bar was a good selling point. It has a good solid feel in the hand, and the magnets are strong. It would be nice if the the sides or lid had clips for a shoulder strap. Would be great as an option.

I put magnetics on everything, the regular guys 1 magnetic is enough, but my dreadnoughts I had to out 4 on to make sure it wouldn't slide anywhere. For some reason though, those white circles formed around my models on the metal trays. Not sure whats the deal there.

Metal Tray】This case includes 5 PCS of metal trays. These trays can be attached by magnets. It will allow you to attach your miniatures(Based magnetized) on tray. Keeps your miniatures stable on the tray. The connections for the screws in top and bottom look up to the job, but over-tightening will definitely cause them to be ripped out of the plastic. Use common sense and you'll be fine. You can tighten the screws, and you will feel when they are secure. That's where you stop. I don't worry for a second that the screws will rip out of the plastic in normal daily use, not even with much more weight in the case than I have in it.

The first is that this handle already comes with additional caps. I don't know about you, but I have not been able to secure additional caps for my RGG handle, AND it's going to cost me an extra 15-16 USD to get the number of caps this handle already has at the base price point. So, this thing has cut costs by 50% right off the bat. Defective, return it and get a new one. Or, just take the little plastic coating off the bottom, and the magnets work much better. Seriously, I could club a small animal to death and not have the mini fly off. The handle is unfinished wood. This likely stems from humidity swelling the wood, to be honest. Either let it sit for a couple of days indoors in AC, or drill it out. If you're this deep into painting, you probably have a hand vise for pinning minis; use it.Might be a good idea to throw a laquer over the top of this thing, to be honest, and maybe a nice dark grey stain while you're at it. It will look awesome. Height Adjustable Tray】You can adjust height between each tray according the height of your miniatures. It will allow you to hold more miniatures in a case.

The second thing is the hand rest. While it isn't a necessity, I really love having it. I have a way to steady my hand at any angle. It is removable, so if you're working with a particularly tall figure, no worries. Installation Needed】This a plastic case and need to be install. If you have any trouble on installation, we will try our best to help you. The only issue for me that is stopping me from making this a 5 star review is the issues with actually building it. The instructions are labelled very well, but the pieces themselves aren't actually labelled, so it was a guessing game, also one screw didn't want to screw in so I have 1 part not screwed in. The trays themselves are thin and feel very light weight, but I consider that an advantage. Magnetically, they do the job better than covered cake baking trays. I am not worried about my models sliding around or getting loose. Some issues: The metal stability bar came unattached. The drill holes in my handle did not seem to be even, and it was very difficult to get the bar "installed," and when I did, I could not get it even (although it is sturdy). It's a little annoying, but does the job. One of the metal discs on one of the bases was also unattached upon receipt... I was able to reattach it with superglue (which any hobbyist has on hand, so that was no problem). There's a lot to like about this painting handle. First--I love that it's wood. My hands tend to slip and get uncomfortable holding plastic for too long, and I really like the feel of this handle. I like that I can adjust how long it is by taking off the bottom, or even all but the very base that the model is on, for doing things like flipping the model upside down to get underside bits. It's definitely sturdy I trust it with my army. There's enough room at the bottom to fit my dice / tape measure / objective markers. Which is super handy. I do like the design of the case and the fact it offers ample room to carry a full 2000 point Warhammer army. I'm able to fit my full Imperial Knight army in the case, with some of the models nearly a foot in height, with extra space in the case for a little wiggle room.

It's a good case, took like 5 minutes to put together. There's 8 screws total, they will ship you a screwdriver with it to help put together. The plastic this is made from looks nice and sturdy. It's not too light weight though, so the build case has a bit of heft to it. Not nearly as much as one build entirely of wood, though, I'd imagine. It is exceedingly easy to rotate and hold a model on this handle. The magnets aren't too strong or too weak. They just work. The only thing it could really do better would be to have a much stronger magnet for the length extender that attaches to the bottom, but you can just as easily glue it in place if you don't mind it being a permanent addition. A stabilizing bar sounds like a good idea with your early onset Parkinson's and rapidly approaching 50th birthday.Very pleased so far. Once built, the case seems quite sturdy. It is heavy though compared to most of my miniature bags. I've got a few suggestions for it though. I have rather long and wide hands. They're Yuge. Unless you're a blood relative of the late, great Andre the Giant, this thing will fit in your hand. If your hand is too small, just use the bottom/top half. You can even *gasp* use both halves as a mount for minis at the same time! It is super easy to fit in the hand; not over-sized. A child could use this without issues, so hand size is no issue. I'm glad they didn't bulk it up and make it less useful as a result.
